The end is near...

"They can because they think they can."

In the journey in our lives, we may encounter different things; some may sound peculiar to us. But as a human being with God-gifted intellectual minds, we have the capacity to understand and learn these new things.

I remember when I first enter high school; there are so many subjects new to me or I may familiar with but in different name. Like algebra, Computer Science (Computer only), T.L.E (HELE then), Social Studies (Sibika then), STA and so much more that I couldn't remember. At first, I wasn't able to understand at once the topic like in algebra. Then, back in my grade school I remember that math was so easy, just simply addition of numbers, subtraction and the like. But in my first year, we're not just adding numbers or fractions but letters. But because of my willingness to learn…I had able to understand it. Just like what was happening in this year.

The past two years having our Computer Science class was not a burden for me. But this year, whoa! It's like. I need to have an extra effort to pass this subject. But everything has its ending. Having the C as one of my subject is like a big bag of burden that I need to carry to pass the third year. When I first heard about it, I really don't know what's C was. I don't have any background 'bout it. Sometimes I asked myself that I thinks also did. "Why do we need to study this subject?"…"Does this will help us?" But even I don't want this subject I should like it…because just what I've told you, I don't have a choice…  I need this subject to pass my third year because I want to graduate and to be in college.

But even I have so many reasons to hate C programming and come to the point to curse Dennis Ritchie in making that kind of program. Just kidding… =) I've learned to like it a little (hehe). But I think that's better than saying I don't like CS. That's true...I'm not joking… I learned to like CS a little because I appreciate the concern of our teacher to us even she's so 'sadista'…hehe… peace ma'am!!! She really wanted to help us. That's it… I wish even I said so many bad things about CS…I wish that I would pass it.

bottomline

Rachel:

hmm..

a bit dramatic what do you think??...

.upon seeing my grades for the third grading period, i am a bit sad[CS] because i am not that excelling in computer science...hmm..

this is one of the subjects wherein i really want to excel in...and i've been trying my best but i guess my best wasn't good enough..(hehe)..Computer programming truly challenges me a lot..and it is really tricky and hard..Oftentimes, after finishing a program my head aches..hehe..

.People who are like experts in compsci(like carl,) are truly admirable..I can't imagine how fast do their imaginations and thinking work...so fascinating...well, i guess i am not destined to be a super programmer haha...

..still Compsci..is a fun subject.,..i learned many things this year...and now hopefully i can call myself an "amateur Computer programmer"...also comp programming involves..skill in mathematics..patience and perseverance...

Working with my groupmates is also considered as bonding sessions with them..[my current groupmates:jared,patty,abby,junko...]..It is very nice to work with them all throughout...hmm...i will miss all those moments with them...

Nervousness-inducing..class discussions..hehe..I can say that ms. Gallardo is a great teacher..but i can't deny the fact that i really get nervous whenever she starts calling names of her students for "unprepared" recitations...she's a frank person kasi,,but.Ma'am i want to thank you for everything you have taught us...despite of our non-cooperative schedules.

Comp Programming..hmm..A journey to remember..

2nd Periodic Test

rach:

2nd Periodic Test....hehe...Honestly, I am a bit cry about my score...(A line of two...thankfully....uhmm...i think i still passed the test).....i admit that I am confused with our lessons in "for statements" but i am giving my best to understand it...(i just hope that my best is good enough...hehe..)....well...we still have the third and fourth grading periods...good luck for all of us!!!!

The real deal

RaCheL

whoa...i guess i can feel it now...Comp. Sci...seems to be a "Real" Math Subject na...yah... i know that this subject is closely related to mathematics..but..during my first two years of taking...Computer Science as a subject..Its like..it deals more about the programs and commands...not the equations and others...you know..a typical Math Lesson...

I have realized that in making programs..especially when it is about solving equations like converting fahrenheit to celsius, deg to rad and so on...we also have to memorize such equations too..we should know how to solve the equation manually as well...it is like you are also solving a mathematical problem..the only difference is that..you just have to tell the computer how to solve the problem by giving the formula...and you don't have to make long computations....and as the user of the program..you can also enter other values because of the scanf....

though, making C pROGRAMS is exciting,...it is also difficult and tricky as well....you have to consider the syntax...the other rules....

the good thing about this is..you learn two things at the same time...solving a mathematical problem...and then making a C program

Embarrassing moments

Rachel:

There was this activity..wherein we were asked to create a program that converts degrees to radians....and so..when we finished the program we asked ms. gallardo to check it ...and then she typed 45 degrees and did not push the enter key...we were surprised when she told us that we should solve for the trigonometric functions manuallyShockedSurprise....it took us lots of time to solve the problem....moreover..we were worried when she told us that she will tell mrs. fama, our trigo teacher that we can't solve such problem and tell her to not let us pass her subject....it was difficult for us to remember the processes...in doing such thing....but maam we swear to you that..we did not copy the answer from our seatmate..he..just explained to us how to do it then we worked it out ourselvesShades...it's true...maam..promise!!!Big Smile

Patricia::

ma'am that's true...PROMISE!!!Big SmileBig SmileBig Smile

Memorable moments in CS

Rachel:

Memorable moments??..hehe...ah yeah...the first time that we created a program...eh..the group of patrick santos was sitting next to us...then Ms. Gallardo...gave us a task...i think that was about the conversion of degree celsius to degree fahrenheit...(im not sure if the spelling is correct)..and so.,..we finished the task early..and our teacher asked us to shut down our computer...then..one of our groupmates not knowing that..the AVR was also connected to the computer of patrick's group...turned off the AVR...and much to our surprise...the computer of patrick's group...suddenly turned offSurprise...while they were still working....sorry guys...but we didn't do that thing purposely!!!....at least now we are aware that our computers are somehow connected...TongueSmile.............

Patricia:

yeah..but i will tell again the story..(w/complete characters..hehe)the story goes on this..Shades(hehe..)the first time that we created a program..the grouP of patrick santos was just right beside us..we finished the given task earlier than them...Big Smilema'am gallardo told us to turned off our computer..then jared..turned it off..and not knowing that the avr was also connected to the computer of patrick's group...he also turned off the avr..we were shOcked..sorry and everythingSurpriseShocked that their computer suddenly turned off..it was really an accident(no hidden purposes..hehe..)..yeah..rachel was right..NOW WE WERE AWARE THAT OUR COMPUTERS ARE SOMEHOW CONNECTED with each other...hehe..Big SmileWink

What can we say about our CS class?

Rachel:

Our Comp Sci Class?!?!Surprise....hmm..Well, making programs using the C Language is amazing....When our teacher told us that we are going to create programs, i was very excited and at the same time nervous because programming doesn't seem easy,right?..Anyway,The subject is good as well as a bit difficult...if C will not execute the program.., we have to go over with all the codes again to detect the errors hmm....I guess making programs using C entails great care, focus and concentration as well.Wink

Patricia:

hmmm...our cOmp sci class?!?...well, like what racheL had said, making programs using c programming language was amazing...Smileit definitely is. But it was a little bit difficult at first..well, maybe until now..(hehe..)sometimes I get confused with what we were doing..the codes and everything..but as we had overcome this confusion. I felt happy..we felt happy when we saw the result of our program..(whew!)It was really great..For me..Our computer Science subject now was really good..it involves great care, patience, concentration..it is better than our second year comp sci..but HARDER than our first year comp sci(hehe..)Tongue..we were lucky that we have a very good teacher that teaches us how to make a c program(weh!..but its true..)Wink
